UKRAINE-RUSSIA ZENIT LAUNCH VEHICLE ORBITS ITALIAN SATELLITE

The Ukraine-Russia Zenit-3SL launch vehicle has successfully orbited an Italian satellite.

The satellite was launched from a floating space platform located in the Pacific near equator.

The Zenit-3SL launch vehicle was designed by Yuzhnoye Design Office (Ukraine). The first and the second stages are produced by YuzhMashZavod (Ukraine) in association with Russian and Ukrainian enterprises.

Sea Launch Company was set up by Boeing (USA), Kvaerner ASA (Norway), S.P.Korolev RSC Energia (Russia), Yuzhnoye Design Office (Ukraine).
