Experts have said that the population's confidence in hryvnia bank deposits has been restored and that the periods of banks deposits are being extended.

Experts stated this to journalists.

"We are seeing a tendency toward restoration of the public's confidence in the hryvnia," said Iryna Skirchuk, the deputy board chairperson of the Khreschatyk bank (Kyiv).

Oleksandr Holubev, the head of the department of retail development at Enerhobank (Kyiv), agreed with Skirchuk.

"The client is giving preference to the hryvnia. The first signs that the panic is over are emerging," Holubev said.

Serhii Stratonov, the chairman of the supervisory board of Universal Bank (Lviv), also noted the positive trends and stressed that a tendency toward an increase in the periods of hryvnia deposits has been noticed.

"We are presently observing a tendency toward an increase in the periods of deposits," he said.

Stanyslav Dubko, the general director of Credit Rating, a credit rating agency, shared the opinions of these bankers, saying that there were signs of stability on the market of bank deposits.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Parliamentary Deputy Stanislav Arzhevitin of the Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defense bloc, who is the board chairman of the Association of Ukrainian Banks and the first deputy chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Finance and Banking, has said that the rate of withdrawal of deposits from banks has slowed.
